Research Assistant (NIE – PS, Learning Spaces Innovation Initiative Fund)

Roles & Responsibilities

The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Assistant on a 3-month contract at the Psychological Studies Academic Group (https://www.nie.edu.sg/our-people/academic-groups/psychological-studies).

Project Title: Learning Spaces Innovation Initiative (LSI)

Project Introduction: The aim of the project is to conduct feasibility studies and to formulate the blueprint for a Learning Spaces Innovation Initiative at NIE to enhance design thinking, learners’ well-being, and the use of creative indoor or outdoor spaces for imaginative thinking.

The research assistant will conduct an extensive literature research and systematic review of research articles in the areas of design thinking and creating spaces (both indoor and outdoor) for imaginative thinking. He/she will also draft conceptual papers/reports on design thinking and the use of creative spaces to enhance learners’ well-being and imaginative thinking.

Requirements

Essential

  • Possess a good degree in psychology
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in conducting literature review and writing proposals
  • Have good project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to take initiative and to work flexibly, as part of a team, as well as independently with minimum supervision


Preferred

  • Applicants with aspirations to pursue a career in psychology
     

Responsibilities

  • Conducts literature research, systematic review and compilation of research articles in the areas of design thinking and creating spaces (both indoor and outdoor) for imaginative thinking
  • Manage research data and project documentations
  • Drafts conceptual papers/reports on design thinking and the use of creative spaces to enhance learners’ well-being and imaginative thinking
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Leader and Project Member
